Our chapter meetings promote the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons, their families, friends and advocates through support, education, enlightenment and advocacy by providing a brief educational presentation followed by a group support session that provides an opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity.
Join us this Monday evening, May 14th, for our monthly Chapter Meeting. We typically begin our meetings with the education piece wherein we deliver a timely, insightful, and community relevant presentation.
Recent research in the fields of leadership, emotional intelligence, and positive psychology indicates that Happiness is the key to high performance in all walks of life. In this month’s meeting, public speaker Captain Avner Even-Zohar will explore avenues to increase self awareness and happiness. Captain Avner will be discussing his new book “Acer the Rat Racer”, a story about the journey of self-acceptance, empowerment, opportunities, overcoming challenges, community, happiness and love.
The 20 to 30 minute presentation begins at 7:00 PM. Following the presentation, we take a short (5 to 10 minute) recess for light refreshments and, of course, mingling and then we begin our support group. Our meetings typically end no later than 8:30 PM.
